Au début des années 1990, on disait que le Web était peuplé de freaks, geeks et queers, bref, de gens à la marge. danah boyd, qui a découvert Internet à cette époque, aime à rappeler que c’est l’endroit idéal pour elle, qui est tout cela à la fois. C’est sur Internet que la chercheuse de 37 ans s’est construite à l’adolescence, avant d’en faire son métier. Aujourd’hui, ses études sur la vie connectée des jeunes ont fait de cette anthropologue une universitaire respectée.
