Google unveiled more than 5,000 images and 100 online exhibitions chronicling street art from around the world on Tuesday.
The Street Art Project online database was created by the Paris-based Google Cultural Institute, using images captured with Google’s Street View camera along with pictures provided by museums and other cultural organizations to build an online retrospective of graffiti art.
The online gallery includes installations from Kibera, Kenya, and wall murals from South Bank, Australia. It also contains work that no longer exists, like the 5Pointz murals in Long Island City, Queens, which were whitewashed in November 2013.
Take a look below at some of our favorites from its samplings.
